Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is one of Europe's most beautiful metropolises, where both the interiors and exteriors offer themselves as settings for historically-themed films, and where 19th century, 1930's or 1950's Paris, Berlin or Vienna can easily be realistically brought to life on film. The city features many examples of classical, secessionist, and today's modern European architecture. Budapest has also stood in for various other cities, including Moscow, Berlin, and Buenos Aires.
Hungary is a relatively flat country, with large open plains and rolling hills and valleys, huge wheat and sunflower fields, and plenty of vineyards (making for plenty of excellent wines). The continental climate provides four full seasons and comfortable summers with up to 16 hours of sunlight.
